  • RSVP Recognition Luncheon

    Jefferson Parish held its 32nd annual recognition luncheon on Thursday, June 13th in Metairie. The luncheon honors those who work each year for the Parish’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

  • A Celebration of Broadway: Parks and Recreation Dance Review

    Students danced the night away in front of family and friends during A Celebration of Broadway, an annual dance review put on by the Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department. Their instructor is Mrs. Darlene Thornton.

  • Jefferson Parish Spring/Summertime Dance Review

    Students from Girard and Bright Playgrounds danced the night away in front of family and friends during the Spring/Summertime dance review. Their instructor is Mrs. Donna Howard, who has been with Jefferson Parish for over 20 years.

  • Headstart Graduation 2013

    Jefferson Community Action Programs (JeffCAP) held its 14th annual Head Start Graduation on Friday, May 10, 2013. Since 1999, the Head Start program has held this special event to celebrate the achievement of its 5-year-old students. JeffCAP is proud to announce that 355 children graduated from its Head Start Program this year.

  • Memorial Day Event

    Memorial Day Ceremony 2013 Friday, May 24, Jefferson Parish and members of American Legion Post 397, Harahan – River Ridge held a Memorial Day Event honoring the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The event was held in the neutral ground at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Causeway Boulevard and the public was invited to attend.

  • Jean Lafitte BioBlitz 2013

    BioBlitz is a partnership between the National Park Service and National Geographic where scientists, naturalists, and anyone with an interest in science and nature team up to see, count, identify, and map every plant and animal possible. It's a Biodiversity festival sharing the nature and cultures of Louisiana and featuring music, food, and exhibitors with hands-on activities.

  • Submerged Roads Groundbreaking

    Jefferson Parish Officials broke ground on the Submerged Roads Program in Council District 1 on the West Bank Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Woodland West Walking Trail in Harvey. The ceremony marked the continuation of a $100 million Hurricane Katrina Submerged Roads Program for the parish-wide repair of local residential streets, encompassing resurfacing of asphaltic concrete pavement and intermittent concrete panel replacement.

  • Rabies Vaccination Day 2013

    Rabies Vaccination Day is a joint effort of the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, the Jefferson SPCA, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, offering low cost Rabies vaccinations to residents of Jefferson Parish.

  • JP Senior Citizen’s Beanbag Baseball Tournament 2013 PSA

    The annual Jefferson Parish Senior Citizen’s Beanbag Baseball Tournament is one of the parish’s most popular events and open to all seniors. This year’s tournament will be held from 9am-3pm at Pontiff Playground in Metairie.

    It’s THE formal event of the year! The Jefferson Parish Disabled Population put on their finest and danced the night away with friends and family. At the Prom, the Prom Court was announced and Ryan Lecron and Michelle Adams were crowned the 2013 prom king and queen.
