Entertainer Matthew Noel artfully brings his stage show using magic, yo yos, juggling, and comedy to the East Bank branch of the Jefferson Parish Library. He has performed for tens of thousands of people over the last 10 years.
Friday, August 23 Jefferson Parish held it's annual Senior Dance Gala at the Alario Center. Seniors danced to the greatest hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s from DJ, “Rockin Ron,” ate hamburgers and hot dogs priced from the 50s, and competed in a costume contest.
The Louisiana Senior Olympic Games will be held from September 14th through October 20th throughout Jefferson Parish and the New Orleans area. West Jefferson Medical Center has begun to provide a weekly-accessible nurse practitioner to the Grand Isle community at its new West Jefferson Primary Care Clinic. The nurse practitioner will see patients Wednesdays 9:00am to 4:30pm by appointment and/or walk-in. The clinic’s grand opening was held Monday, July 8th, 2013.

The new widened Huey P. Long Bridge was officially opened to the public on Sunday, June 16th. A 5K run sent runners and walkers alike over the historic bridge before the ceremony and official ribbon-cutting were held to commemorate the opening of the new widened driving lanes.
