On October 15th, 2013, neighbors, police, and firemen gathered together all over Jefferson Parish for the 30th annual “National Night out Against Crime.” With parties going on all over the parish, the Night Out Against Crime helps to strengthen neighborhood support, increase crime prevention awareness, and stimulate anti-crime efforts.

Tour de Jefferson 2013 On October 20th, citizens from all over came to bike the 7th annual Tour de Jefferson. This bike tour is for all ages and all skill levels and takes riders throughout Jefferson Parish and along the Mississippi River Trail.
Jefferson Parish installed floating breakwater vegetated islands that run parallel to an approximate 3.5 acre marsh area on the west side of the Bucktown Marina. The islands are installed approximately 60-100 feet from the edge of the existing wetland and are designed to provide habitat and shoreline protection. Volunteers from Entergy Louisiana assisted the Parish with the planting and installation.

Jefferson Parish, LA Presents: "Gretna Centennial Celebration."
Celebrating 19 years the Gretna Heritage Festival, encompassing 25 city blocks, features seven stages with performances by international entertainers along with some of Louisiana's finest and favorites! The food dished out from the giant food tent will be exceptional with just about every culture represented.
Entertainer Matthew Noel artfully brings his stage show using magic, yo yos, juggling, and comedy to the East Bank branch of the Jefferson Parish Library. He has performed for tens of thousands of people over the last 10 years.
Friday, August 23 Jefferson Parish held it's annual Senior Dance Gala at the Alario Center. Seniors danced to the greatest hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s from DJ, “Rockin Ron,” ate hamburgers and hot dogs priced from the 50s, and competed in a costume contest.
The Louisiana Senior Olympic Games will be held from September 14th through October 20th throughout Jefferson Parish and the New Orleans area.
