  • Headstart Graduation 2013

    Jefferson Community Action Programs (JeffCAP) held its 14th annual Head Start Graduation on Friday, May 10, 2013. Since 1999, the Head Start program has held this special event to celebrate the achievement of its 5-year-old students. JeffCAP is proud to announce that 355 children graduated from its Head Start Program this year.

  • Memorial Day Event

    Memorial Day Ceremony 2013 Friday, May 24, Jefferson Parish and members of American Legion Post 397, Harahan – River Ridge held a Memorial Day Event honoring the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The event was held in the neutral ground at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Causeway Boulevard and the public was invited to attend.

    BioBlitz is a partnership between the National Park Service and National Geographic where scientists, naturalists, and anyone with an interest in science and nature team up to see, count, identify, and map every plant and animal possible. It's a Biodiversity festival sharing the nature and cultures of Louisiana and featuring music, food, and exhibitors with hands-on activities.

  • Submerged Roads Groundbreaking

    Jefferson Parish Officials broke ground on the Submerged Roads Program in Council District 1 on the West Bank Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Woodland West Walking Trail in Harvey. The ceremony marked the continuation of a $100 million Hurricane Katrina Submerged Roads Program for the parish-wide repair of local residential streets, encompassing resurfacing of asphaltic concrete pavement and intermittent concrete panel replacement.

  • Rabies Vaccination Day 2013

    Rabies Vaccination Day is a joint effort of the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, the Jefferson SPCA, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, offering low cost Rabies vaccinations to residents of Jefferson Parish.

    The annual Jefferson Parish Senior Citizen’s Beanbag Baseball Tournament is one of the parish’s most popular events and open to all seniors. This year’s tournament will be held from 9am-3pm at Pontiff Playground in Metairie.
