    Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation held its annual Westbank Disabled Population's Spring Prom at The Four Columns in Harvey. This year’s theme was the 1920’s-eque "It’s a Grand Affair.”

  • The BP Oil Disaster: 5 Years Later

    Five years ago, on April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, killing 11 workers and spilling approximately 200 million gallons of crude oil impacting hundreds of miles of coastline along the Gulf of Mexico. To date, it is the worst disaster of its kind in U.S. history.

  • Armed Intruder Full Scale Exercise

    On February 28, 2015, the Kenner Police Department conducted a full scale armed intruder exercise at John James Audubon Elementary School in order to test and validate a multi-agency response that included law enforcement from all over Jefferson Parish as well as Emergency Medical Services, Fire Departments, and Public Information Offices.
