Terrytown GoldenAgers Senior Center Grand Opening
Community members and elected officials recently gathered to celebrate the completion of the Terrytown Golden Age Center. The 3,900-square-foot facility, which cost just over $1 million, was funded by the Jefferson Parish Recreation Department and gaming revenue received from Boomtown Casino. The center includes several improvements and upgrades, including Americans with Disabilities Act compliancy, a 12-foot ceiling in the main area, an upgraded kitchen, new bingo boards, additional storage, a covered drop off, automatic doors on the front entrance and six handicapped parking spots.

Sunday, November 4th people came from all over to bike the 25, the 35, and the 50 mile bike trails all throughout Jefferson Parish and along the Mississippi River Trail.

Night Out Against Crime
Criminals do not like to venture into neighborhoods where many eyes are on watch, looking for anything or anyone out of the ordinary. One of the greatest aids JPSO has is calls from neighbors who see something on their block that raise their suspicion. With this in mind, neighbors gathered together all over Jefferson Parish October 16th for the annual “Night out Against Crime,” designed to strengthen neighborhood support, increase crime prevention awareness, and stimulate anti-crime efforts. Also, it was a lot of fun.
Gretna Fest 2012
Gretna Fest is held every year in Historic Downtown Gretna along the banks of the Mississippi River. See the sites and hear the sounds of this year’s festival, held October 5th-7th, including music, rides, games, food, and more!
