The Krewe of Argus was founded in 1972 by several Jefferson Parish civic-minded business men. This family friendly Parade rolls on Mardi Gras Day in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. Over one million family-oriented spectators line the Veterans Blvd. route in Metairie, Louisiana to catch its assortments of specialty throws. The Krewe is comprised of over 450 male, female, and children riders, as well as guest Celebrities and a Marching Band. Each year the Argus crowns a Special King, Queen, and Royalty Court from its own membership to ride as Royalty. In past Parades, Argus has created special floats designed to honor our heroes in the Armed Services and local celebrities such as Artist George Rodrigue and his Blue Dog.

The Krewe of Napoleon was created in 1980 to give Jefferson Parish an excitingly different approach to the Mardi Gras season.

To promote good fellowship, contribute to civic good, encourage charity and keep alive the great spirit of Mardi Gras.

Watch as Pinnacles members and their guests celebrate the Mardi Gras season at this beautiful formal ball. This year’s theme is “Winter Wonderland.” Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation offers recreation activities to people with developmental disabilities. The goals are to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, emotional and social functions and promote healthy, independent leisure lifestyles. Jefferson Parish Senior Citizen Services provides a diverse selection of programming and activities to the area's senior citizen population.

Take a tour of a Drainage Pump Station Safe House. Jefferson Parish has designed and constructed Safe Rooms at thirteen of the Drainage pump stations. Pump station operators and screen cleaning personnel will occupy these Safe Rooms during the passage of a hurricane.

The Tour de Jefferson is an annual bike ride through scenic Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Presented by the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, TDJ is the premiere quality of life event in the Parish.
