On March 23rd, 2017 Jefferson Parish cut the ribbon on its new dog park at Pontiff Playground in Metairie. In attendance were Parish President Mike Yenni, Councilwoman Cynthia Lee-Sheng, and Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken along with an excited crowd of dogs and humans. The park is open now and free to the public.
Held January 29th at the Landmark Hotel Ballroom, the 2017 Golden Age Mardi Gras Ball theme was Nursery Rhymes and Bedtime Stories.
